The Royal Festival Hall Education Centre first contacted the MA Narrative Environments about this project in early July. Although the first meeting with the client was still in the middle of that month, officially the project started in August.

Up until September, spatial analysis and research took priority. We developed schemes and deepened our knowledge of social behaviour, human interaction, sound systems, sensors available in the market, OS and hardware.

However, what we are sharing here with you is the production stage. The day we went to the Primary School of Loughborough to record and photograph 28 excited future virtuosos playing the Gamelan, and also the construction on site of the installation up until the final tense minutes!
